Many people have this question, why is Cummins blooming everywhere in China? Dongkang, Xikang, Fukang, Chongkang, Guangkang, Ankang… there are so many “kang”, how much do you know? Let’s take a look today.

The engine is the “heart” of modern automobiles. Founded in 1919, Cummins is a global power leader in the commercial and industrial markets, headquartered in Columbus, Indiana, USA. In 1924, Cummins’ first self-designed direct-injection engine, the F-type engine, began production.
In 1928, the production of U-shaped engines began, marking the official entry of Cummins into the field of automotive power. In 1933, Cummins launched the H-type engine, which later withstood the arduous test of war from the tropics to the Arctic Circle, completely opening the door to the North American commercial truck market.

Cummins engines were used in thousands of road construction equipment and heavy-duty trucks during the interstate highway construction boom. By the end of the 1960s, its sales and service network had expanded to 98 countries around the world.
As early as 1941, a large number of military trucks equipped with Cummins engines began to be introduced to China. In 1944, Chongqing sent it a letter of intent for cooperation, but it took 1975 to actually enter the Chinese market. Over the years, Cummins has insisted on forming strategic alliances with large Chinese enterprises to achieve common development.
