The starter generator for starting diesel generators is a DC series excitation motor for short-term operation. In order to make it work properly and prolong its service life, it must be properly maintained and protected
(1) Since the starter generator is designed for short-term work, the running time of each starter generator should not exceed 10s. If the starter cannot be started once and a second start is required, the interval between the two starts should not be less than 40s.
(2) Do not press the start button when the diesel generator and the starter generator have not stopped, otherwise there will be a violent collision between the gear and the ring gear and an accident will occur.
(3) Always check whether the connection of the starter-generator fastener is firm, whether the wire connection is good, and the wire regularly checks whether the starter-generator rectified surface is smooth and clean, whether the carbon brush is stuck, and whether the carbon brush spring pressure is normal. If it is found that the surface of the commutator has large sparks or serious ablation, and the carbon brushes are too damaged, the carbon brushes should be repaired and replaced.
After 1000 hours, the gears and bearings of the starter generator should be lubricated.
(4) Regularly remove dust and keep the inside of the starter generator clean.
Firm, especially the positive and negative poles must not be wrongly connected, otherwise the power generation phase and the regulator will be faulty.
(5) When the charging generator is running, it is not allowed to short-circuit the positive electrode with the casing or the negative electrode with metal objects such as a wire cutter, so as to observe whether there is a spark to judge whether the generator is generating electricity, otherwise it is easy to burn out the components.
After 1000 hours, the front and rear bearings should be replaced with grease once, and the grease should be filled with 2/3 of the bearing chamber, otherwise it is easy to cause the grease to overflow and stick on the slip ring.
The slip ring and the carbon brush are in poor contact, which affects the performance of the generator.
(6) The charging hair should be removed frequently
The fouling on the motor, wipe the collector ring and line with diesel oil) regularly check whether the stator, rotor and rectifier components of the charging generator are de-soldered, short-circuited and open-circuited.
(7) Regularly check the stator and rotor insulation of the charging generator, and strictly check whether the brush frame and the outlet screw are well insulated to the ground. If the insulation resistance is too low, it should be removed.
(8) The battery should always be in a charged state. During operation, the charging generator is used for regular charging, and the charging current is automatically adjusted by the charging generator regulator
(9) The electrolyte level of the battery should be kept 10-15mm higher than the edge of the pole plate. When the liquid level drops, distilled water should be added, but river water, well water and concentrated sulfuric acid should not be added.
(10) The battery that has been charged and has not been used should be recharged at least once a month. At the same time, regardless of the operating time of the diesel generator and the condition of the battery, inspection charging should be carried out every 3 months.
(11) The air hole of the liquid injection hole plug of the Fan battery should be kept unobstructed. The outer casing, cover, wire clip and electric pile head of the battery should be cleaned frequently to prevent dust and debris from entering the battery.
Wipe with a cloth soaked in a solution of % bicarbonate and soda, then dry and apply
Vaseline for industrial use.
