Cummins CCEC’s history in China

Chongqing cummins engine co., Ltd(CCEC for short). was established in October 1995, located in chongqing shapingba district ambition road 100, is the joint-venture with 50:50 ratio between united States cummins and chongqing machinery co., LTD in the production of overloading and high power diesel engine company,which starting point of cummins localized production in China and is the first engine joint venture, It is also the backbone subsidiary of The Parent company chongqing Electromechanical Co., LTD. The company has more than 1300 employees.

In the year of 1956
1956 Factory named “Sichuan Province local state-owned New Machinery 1”

In the year of 1972
In 1972, it changed its name to “Chongqing Automobile Engine Factory”, producing Bellier 6140 heavy-duty engines.

In the year of 1981
On March 26, 1981, the license contract was successfully signed to produce Cummins NH and K series engines.

In the year of 1995
January 28, 1995 the joint venture contract of Chongqing Cummins engine Co., Ltd. was formally signed in Beijing.
October 1, 1995, Chongqing Cummins engine Co., Ltd. officially opened.
On October 6, 1995, the first engine produced by Chongqing Cummins was put into storage with the number 41030001.

In the year of 2005
In 2005, Chongqing Kangming achieved the double breakthrough of engine production and sales of 10,000 units.

In the year of 2006
In 2006, Chongqing Cummins introduced cummins QSK19, QSK38 full electronic control engine.

In the year of 2007
In 2007, it was selected as one of the top 50 Chongqing Industrial Enterprises for 15 consecutive years, ranking second in the honorary certificate manufacturing enterprises.

In the year of 2010
In the 16th Asian Games held in Guangzhou in 2010, 46 power generators using Chongqing Cummins engines served as backup power for 30 major venues.

In the year of 2011
In November 2011, the annual production and sales of Chongqing Cumings engine exceeded 20,000 units.

In the year of 2013
On August 28, 2013, Chongqing Mechanical & Electrical Co., Ltd. formally signed an agreement with Cummins To establish chongqing Cummins high-horsepower engine technology R&D center and production line.

In the year of 2015
On January 27, 2015, chongqing Cummins high horsepower engine technology R&D Center and production line project laid the foundation, marking the BFG project of Chongqing Cummins future development officially broke ground.

In the year of 2016
In 2016, Chongqing Cummins established the development goal of “reform and change, look brand-new”.

In the year of 2017
On July 19, 2017, the groundbreaking ceremony of Chongqing Cummins High-horsepower R&D Center was held.

In the year of 2018
In the first half of 2018, per capita engine production and sales and per capita profit hit a record high since the company was founded.

In the year of 2019
On September 3, 2019, Cummins Chongqing Technology Center opened, marking the first high-horsepower R&D center of Cummins in China officially put into operation.
