In 2021, the “Destination Zero” strategy was proposed, aiming to help customers achieve carbon reduction through a diversified power solution matrix.

In the field of traditional energy and power, Cummins has national six diesel for road use and national four power solutions for non-road use, with a displacement ranging from 2.5L to 15L, using non-EGR, smart brain 2.0 closed-loop control technology, and comprehensively improving engine efficiency. Fuel consumption achieves greater power output. National VI natural gas power covers 15L, 12L and 6.7L. Compared with the National V models, it saves gas by 5%-10%. In 2023, the company will also successively launch a series of new products that support the requirements of the national fuel oil regulations in the fourth stage, further reduce carbon emissions, and help customers reduce carbon in the entire operation cycle.

In addition, in 2022, Cummins will be the first to launch an engine platform suitable for a variety of fuels. The thermal efficiency of diesel engines on this platform can reach 48-50%, and the thermal efficiency of gas engines can reach 43-45%. Biodiesel, hydrogenated vegetable oil (HVO), renewable A variety of low-carbon and zero-carbon fuels such as natural gas and hydrogen help users reduce carbon at a lower cost. Among them, the Cummins 15H hydrogen internal combustion engine can use green hydrogen and zero-carbon fuel, and the design thermal efficiency BTE is as high as 44%, which expands the new technology approach for energy saving and emission reduction.

While continuously upgrading traditional energy power solutions, Cummins is also actively deploying zero-carbon energy technology capabilities, including batteries, electrolyzed water hydrogen production equipment, and fuel cells. In the field of hydrogen energy technology, Cummins provides customers with “production, storage and application” whole industry chain system solutions, designs and produces proton exchange membrane (PEM) and solid oxide fuel cell systems and core components, as well as high-pressure hydrogen storage systems, electrolysis Water hydrogen production equipment, megawatt-level hydrogen energy and multi-energy coupling solutions.

In 2022, the first batch of Cummins HyLYZER®-500 has been settled in the first batch of domestic source-grid-load-storage research and development test bases and megawatt-level renewable electricity electrolysis water hydrogen production demonstration bases. Among them, the renewable electricity electrolysis water hydrogen production demonstration project, which has been officially put into use, uses “green electricity” to produce “green hydrogen”, integrating wind power, electrolytic hydrogen production, hydrogen purification, storage and transportation and other multi-system full chains, and supporting construction of 3.66MW The photovoltaic power station and 9MW wind power project provide green kinetic energy for the project to be put into operation. The whole process of hydrogen production achieves zero carbon emissions, and the purity of green hydrogen reaches 99.9995%. The hydrogen produced every day can be used for 106 buses to run all day, with an annual production capacity of nearly 400 tons, which effectively promotes the development of China’s hydrogen energy industry.
